Mandatory features --- Such as a pool, handicap access, a full working kitchen (many rentals have small resort refrigerators and no ovens), outdoor eating terrace, etc. Prioritize a list of what is essential and which features would be nice to have.

Location --- Note the area or region and especially note your preferred setting, rural or urban.

Your budget --- Rentals range from $700 weekly to $7500 in high season - price depends on size and amenities.

Payments

Deposit and final payments to companies are in cash (check) paid through Houses for Hire: we convert your payment into a foreign bank draft or transfer. Credit cards are not accepted. Once you accept a booking the deposit is due (yesterday) and cancellation penalties apply. Regard money paid as non-refundable, although each company has its own limits and policies. Be sure of your choice before accepting a firm booking. Each catalog explains booking conditions with a mandatory form that must be signed by the booking party and sent with the deposit. Italian law regulates these companies quite strictly and you can be sure that you and the owners and the agents are protected. The necessity to cancel a booking causes serious concern and since penalties are enforced, travel insurance is strongly advised. We offer Travel Guard for your consideration.

Your final payment is due to Houses for Hire eight weeks prior to your arrival date. Once the formalities are accomplished you will receive directions, phone numbers, addresses and instructions along with a map and an itinerary. This packet will include your airline tickets, train passes or car rental vouchers should you use our services for these arrangements.
