All properties have access to a private swimming lake and a windsurfing lake, tennis available. Calcione Castle is between Siena and Arezzo.

This absolutely first class property was awarded an ancestor of the current occupants. He served as treasurer to Lorenzo di Medici. The castle and it’s dependencies have been in the della Stufa family since 1463! It is set in the hills of the Val di Chiana, one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany. The location is especially suitable for touring to Arezzo, Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano, and Siena: all within 30-45 minute drive. The A1 autostrada Florence-Rome is a half hour drive from Calcione (Monte San Savino exit).

The two large houses, San Giuseppe and Castagno, each have their own private pool, and an additional pool is shared by the apartment guests. In addition, the property has two lakes, one perfect for swimming, the other a favorite with wind-surfing and boating guests. On the castle grounds a tennis court is available for guest use. Linens provided, final cleaning charged extra according to size of the rental.

Houses for Hire is the exclusive USA representative of these wonderfully fitted vacation places: all have charming furnishings with many antiques, comfortable seating, nicely tiled bathrooms with bidets (tubs all have hand-held showers), well equipped kitchens: the works.. Beamed ceilings, cotto flooring and characteristic Tuscan archways are evident throughout. But what makes Calcione especially attractive is the attention to detail: the gracious owners really care that you are comfortable and happy on their beloved estate.
