Charming, secluded retreat in the Vaucluse, Provence. One-half hectare in the woods at the foot of Le Petit Luberon mountains, with immediate access to hiking trails, nearby wine tasting country, Roman ruins and gorgeous sightseeing. 6 km. from Menerbes, 3 km. from Lacoste, 5 km. from Bonnieux (picturesque, medieval "perched" villages), Le Paradis Caché is off the same road on which Peter Mayle, author of "A Year in Provence," lived. (First house on right past the soccer field).  Gordes, Goult and Roussillon are nearby, with wonderful restaurants, galleries and chateaux to visit.

Le Paradis Caché sleeps 4-6 comfortably. Main house built on the ruins of a 17th Century windmill, surrounded by pine woods and pasture land. Two parking possibilities: one beyond the pool and the second below by the garage. This large area leads up stone stairs to a lovely large terrace with a 3X6 meter splash pool (1.5 meters deep). Plentiful dining and sun lounge furniture with shade coverage provides the very best and most convenient outdoor living in summer months. This leads directly to the new modern American kitchen which is fully equipped (washer/dishwasher) with gas stove /oven, full fridge with freezer top, toaster, coffee maker, food processor. There is a sunny window with a view of the terrace. The pantry next to this houses a WC and a washing machine.

From the kitchen two steps down lead to the dining room with fireplace: the bench table seat eight and there is a hutch as well.. Leading off the dining room is a double bedroom with en suite tub and hand held shower plus WC.

To the left of the kitchen, a semi-flight of steps leads to a huge living room with fireplace, TV, stereo, leather sofa set and plenty of bookshelf space. The living room opens via French doors: to the rear a small terrace with wonderful views over vineyards to Menerbes. The front French doors open to steps down to the splash pool and terrace. From the living room another half flight of steps goes up to a guest double bedroom with small loft sleeping area only suitable for a teen, and another half

flight of steps go up to a big (queen) master Guest Bedroom
bedroom with new tiled bath with tub, hand held shower, sink and WC. This wing is a new addition completed in 1999: it features traditional construction with beamed ceilings and tiled flooring.

In addition, there is an above-garage studio apt. with small kitchenette, a shower room with sink and WC, and a twin bedded room. Central heating out of season payable as used.

There is plenty of guidebook information: no need to carry your Fodor across the Atlantic. Our clients have loved this unpretentious holiday home: it is very well equipped. It is a perfect fit for couples traveling together.
